Vermilion County residents enjoy a number of beautiful parks, fun activities and plenty of opportunities to sit back and relax a bit. Vermilion River Country helps spread the word about those assets.
From the state's only National Scenic River to large county and state parks, visitors and residents will find much to keep them busy outdoors in Vermilion County. Fishing, hiking, bird watching, camping, riding mountain bikes, canoeing and hunting all fill the spring calendar, along with many special events.
This edition features a few of the summer activities people enjoy along the area's rivers and ponds. Summer's long, sunny days give everyone ample opportunity to go after a big bass or smaller panfish. Equipment can be expensive and sophisticated, or it can be a line tied to a can pole with a bobber attached.

However you go about it, try to spend a few lazy afternoons this summer enjoying one of Vermilion County's rivers or lakes.
